Florence American Cemetery: Honoring American Sacrifice in Italy

The Florence American Cemetery spans 70 acres in Italy, where 4,392 U.S. military dead rest in symmetrical curved rows upon the hillside. Most died fighting after Rome's capture in June 1944. The memorial features a tall pylon with a sculptured figure and two open courts joined by the Tablets of the Missing, inscribed with 1,409 names, including men of the 88th Infantry Division.

Location & Hours​

Located on Via Cassia, 7.5 miles south of Florence. Open daily 9am-5pm. Admission is FREE with no advance booking required.
